AVINENT continues to support quality training and to organize constant learning activities to present the top innovations in the sector and the latest solutions available in the new context of the digital workflow. On this occasion, the company mounted a training session aimed specifically at presenting the automation and particular characteristics of DD cubeX2 products and at providing dentists with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with them.
AVINENT’s process of growth and transformation has been driven for some time by its commitment to quality training. Mindful that changes and improvements are taking place in dentistry at an unprecedented pace, the company is fully aware that adapting to this revolution is essential. Consequently, ongoing training for people working in the sector has become a fundamental requirement in order to add value, and AVINENT is determined to remain a flagship in the creation of knowledge.
In the light of this, and in order to give dentists insights into the novel DD cubeX² products – which AVINENT is the official distributor of in Spain – the company organized a specialist course at the Manresa campus (UManresa) of the Fundació Universitària del Bages of the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya.
Attendants found the course fascinating. Dr. Mireia Ximenes, from Laboratorio Dental AC10, said “the course was really interesting: we were able to handle the product,” adding jokingly that “the result was not that good in my case due to my lack of experience.”
Dr. Guillem Cao de Benós, from Dental Quick LAB clinic, stated that he was already familiar with the product prior to the training session but that the tools learned during the course would prove very useful: “At the end of the training, I feel that I have a greater knowledge of the material and that the type and methodology of the course were suitable for learning the key details that make this product stand out.” In addition, he added, “the training resources made available to us were appropriate to ensure the activity ran perfectly, and the marvelous premises helped the course to go well.”
The AVINENT team, among them CAD/CAM specialists, took on the task of showing students individually how to put into practice the top recommendations related to the DD cubeX². Albert Mangas, Product Manager at AVINENT, recounts that “previously, zirconia discs could be more esthetic or more hard-wearing. With this new product, you get both these qualities in a single product: maximum possible durability and maximum possible beauty.”
The DD cubeX2 line
Dental Direkt GmbH has raised the bar in zirconia with DD cubeX². Albert Mangas comments that “this new material offers a considerable improvement in translucence.” Consequently, DD cubeX² is highly esthetic for monolithic treatments in the anterior and posterior tooth region.
For its part, the DD cubeX2 ML, preshaded according to the VITA scale, has a flexural strength of 800 MPa and makes reliable shade reproduction possible using industrial shading.
All the course attendants also had the opportunity to practice with the new DD ProShade range of liquids to shade the zirconia. At the end of the session, Mireia Ximenes, from Laboratorio Dental AC10, stated that “the liquids seemed to me to be a good system for shading the zirconia.”
Dental prosthetics: tailored training
